Introducing the Thalia Poulos Scholarship for Professional Organizers

Creating opportunities.

Each year ASPO will be awarding a scholarship for one year of ASPO Membership and the Simple Systems® Certification courses to an aspiring or current Professional Organizer.

Thalia Poulos, CHO is a founder of ASPO and the first President of ASPO.  She currently serves on the Executive Board as both a trusted advisor and the Chairperson of the Nominating & Leadership Development Committee.

About Thalia

Thalia Poulos began her organizing career over 20 years ago in Chicago where she started her business Organized Beautifully.  At that time the organizing profession in Chicago was still highly unknown. It took the midwest awhile to understand that this was a real job. But soon she met up with one other organizer to share their knowledge and resources and soon that group turned into an alliance of 8. They helped bootstrap the industry and all learned from each other and helped each other. This is the true spirit of cooperation.

Later Thalia made the decision to move across the country to Encinitas CA where she lives with her husband and continues to organize and serve her community.   

Thalia has been a guiding light in the industry and for ASPO and our members since its beginning.

Why this scholarship was created

Thalia has a strong commitment both to community service and the advancement of the Organizing profession.

As a founder of ASPO, she believes in the importance of giving back to our community to create opportunities for growth and education to one who might not have immediate access and who also understands and lives these values.

Who can apply? Any aspiring or current Professional Organizer including ASPO members or non-members.

How is the recipient chosen? Thalia and the Scholarship Committee will review all applications during the review period and decide which applicant’s responses most closely align with ASPO values. Financial need may also be considered.
